GENERAL SUMMARY:


 


24 Hour Fitness, a leader in the fitness industry, is embarking upon some major changes to its HRIS infrastructure and we’re looking for someone to oversee the function and manage these critical change initiatives.  The Manager, HRIS will help the organization achieve business success by implementing and maintaining a best-of-breed Talent Management Suite and providing leadership with timely, accurate, and insightful information on its talent.  This person will become a critical part of the Human Resources team and will be expected to manage a small staff of business analysts who work with internal clients to define information requirements and develop solutions.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Lead the implementation and configuration efforts for the planned Talent Management Suite

    • Lead and coordinate efforts for small teams focused on specific project functionality (e.g., Learning Management System, Performance Management Process, Talent Review & Succession Planning)

    • Follow up with project sub-teams to ensure they are meeting their timelines and deliverables

    • Provide insight on how to best configure the Talent Management tools, drawing from best practices, industry trends, and personal experience with similar systems

    • Partner with business leaders in Organizational Development, Staffing, Learning & Development, and Total Rewards to ensure the systems are meeting their expectations

    • Work closely with the IT function to establish and maintain data migration paths, integration points, and protocols for dealing with exceptions and errors

    • Keep the suite up-to-date and meeting the business’ expectations through continuous improvements and timely rollout of system upgrades



  2. Manage analysis, development, configuration, and operation of HR Systems

    • Participate in the development of overall strategic plan for HR systems, including a transition from the current PeopleSoft HRMS to a next generation system

    • Serve as a "point person" for the business on HRIS-related project requests, helping to prioritize, develop and refine business requirements, analyze ROI, and assign appropriate resources

    • Ensure that all projects are delivering on their stated objectives while remaining on time and on budget

    • Evaluate functionalities of HRMS that may not be activated/owned today, and recommend solutions that meet business need while fitting into overall HR & financial strategies.

    • Co-lead with IT the upgrade or implementation of new supplementary systems such as Employee Self-Service or Manager Self-Service.

    • Partner with IT to troubleshoot and correct system or process issues.

    • Continually monitor processes, and develop appropriate metrics to reflect accuracy and efficiency.



  3. Manage the company’s HR reporting needs

    • Monitor "ad hoc" and ongoing requests for people-related data to ensure that the workload is appropriate and that the reports are meeting the business’ needs

    • Delegate and supervise the creation of ad hoc custom reports based on HR and other departments’ needs

    • Use prior experience and best practices to suggest new reports that may be of interest to management

    •  Assure accuracy of all reported data coming out of HRIS systems



  4. Support HR effectiveness

    • Partner with HR leaders to continually refine and improve HR processes in order to maximize efficiency, cost savings, and enable new HR initiatives

    • Manage HRIS vendor relationships to ensure the services that 24HF receives meet our needs and provide excellent value relative to the competitive marketplace




 


ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:


 


Reporting to the Vice President, Organizational Development, this position will have significant interaction with business partners in HR Operations, OD, Training, Compensation, Benefits, and will also support Payroll and other Corporate and Field departments as needed.  Must be able to form solid working relationships with IT management, developers, vendors, and contractors.


 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Knowledge, skills & abilities:



  • Significant experience partnering with a variety of HRIS systems and providers, having led large-scale HRIS systems implementations and/or upgrades

  • Experience working with "Software as a Service" (SaaS) vendors for HR Systems, integrating them with legacy ERP systems

  • Excellent project and process management skills. Proven track record of effective process change management

  • Strong leadership skills in team management and ability to interact with all levels of the organization

  • Excellent analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems using expertise, creativity and judgment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Excellent negotiation & influencing skills – must be able to get HR projects prioritized appropriately

  • Demonstrated ability to create governance documents, such as project initiation requests, project charters, and ROI analyses

  • Strong business acumen, including a working knowledge of basic HR concepts

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, MIS, or IT/Computer Science required; Advanced degree or MBA preferred

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft 8.0 or above, including PeopleSoft reporting tools like nVision and Crystal Reports

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive responsibility of HRIS

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience managing a staff of 2 or more employees

  • Requires extensive use of computers

  • Regular travel to other corporate offices (primarily within California), and occasional travel to technical/industry conferences.  Travel approximately 10-15%.
