HR Manager - ER Investigations

Responsibilities include:
Investigations/ER Consulting
Conduct comprehensive and timely investigations of complex employee relations issues that arise.
Apply legal requirements related to investigations in scenarios that are complex and broad in scope, consulting with LCA as needed.
Uphold and enforcing company policies and guidelines related to equal employment opportunity, anti-harassment and anti-discrimination, and business conduct.
Partner with the HR Generalists to ensure that they investigate employee relations issues in a comprehensive and timely manner.
Assist in the tracking, trending, and analysis of employee relations issues across the company.
Provide recommendations for resolution of employee relations issues to HR Generalists.
Identify investigation/ER issue trends, and collaborate with HR Leadership, Generalist, and Managers to develop proactive measures to reduce future complaints.
Collaborate in the development and implementation trainings to increase HR Generalists’ capabilities on how to conduct investigations, and to increase awareness of relevant employment law and legal issues driving employee relations investigations.
Partner with other investigative teams such as the Financial Integrity Unit, Corporate Security, and the Office of Legal Compliance.
HR Program Improvement / Design / Implementation
Collaborate with the ERIT Manager to improve ER investigation effectiveness by improving/redesigning the ER investigations process in the US and in Microsoft’s international subsidiaries, resulting in a positive impact for HR, managers and employees across the organization.
Collaborate with the ERIT Manager to implement any redesign of the ER investigations process through follow-up and hands-on assistance to ensure an inclusive environment is created and maintained.
Collaborate with the ERIT Manager and team to build strong relationships among international regions and corporate HR staff which result in improved exchange and partnership.
Qualifications:
6-8+ years of related experience and bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience leading the design and implementation of HR programs with broad organizational impact.
Extensive experience conducting (lead investigator) and consulting on complex ER investigations.
Ability to identify and define problems and develop and implement solutions.
Ability to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
Ability to prepare comprehensive investigation reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion.
Strong partnering, diplomacy, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills are critical.
Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices and federal and state employment laws.
