JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES


 



  • Fully engaged in understanding the business, marketplace, products and customers

  • Builds relationships with key players:  senior leaders, key talent, key customers

  • Assesses culture: supports a healthy culture and influences / leads cultural change as needed

  • Key member of the Senior Management Team.  Facilitates dialogue.  Assesses and supports healthy team dynamics.  Leads the agenda as it applies to HR Strategy:  translates business strategy into people and organizational planning.

  • Consults to SMT peers and other key leaders on issues of organizational structure and design.

  • Articulates a clear vision and plan for how the human resources of the company will change and evolve over time so employee growth is planned and intentional

  • Assures employee communication is regular and relevant.  Is proactive in the shadow leadership of employee communication for all SMT members.

  • Supports SMT members in building strong functional leadership teams, either through direct support of team building or by partnering with external expert resources.

  • Supports the President of the division:  provides feedback, coaching, and a sounding board.  Partners with external expert resources in supporting the President’s development and the leadership development of the SMT.


HR Operations:



  • Recruits, retains, develops, and motivates a strong team of HR professionals.


Drives integration of key HR processes with global KCI HR processes.  Successfully ensures that the voice of the LifeCell division is represented in global KCI HR process design.  Successfully implements and deploys key HR shared services:  compensation, employee benefits; HR technology, performance management, recruiting and on-boarding.   


Talent Management:



  • Passionate and visionary with respect to all aspects of talent:  recruitment, retention, development, assessment, deployment.

  • Leads talent management activity for the company at the SMT table and assures that KCI talent management requirements are satisfied and relevant.

  • Knows key talent: spends time to know them, coach them, assess them, and sponsor them.  Is seen by key talent as an essential resource to their leadership development.  Is seen by the SMT as a valuable and valid reference point in the assessment and calibration of key talent.

  • Partners with preferred executive coaches to assure that key talent are fully supported in their ongoing leadership development.

  • Designs, implements, support action learning opportunities for key talent.

  •  Leads talent deployment:  identifies development opportunities and facilitates decision making for filling these opportunities.

  • Actively supports leadership transition.

  • Defines core competencies needed by leaders of the company.

  • Leads the recruitment and selection processes for leadership roles.  Partners with retained recruitment experts.  Designs and facilitates selection and interviewing processes based on best practice.  Maintains a solid record of selecting successful hires in a timely fashion.


Requirements:



  • Over 15 years of HR experience in various roles

  • Strong proven track record in organizational design, talent management and HR operations

  • Demonstrated success in working with senior management teams to advance the business

  • Keen philosophy of business partner as the critical role of HR

  • Demonstrated people management skills to lead the HR team

  • Proven leadership credibility

  • Bachelor degree required; masters degree highly desired; degrees in behavioral science or business preferred

  • Experience in bioscience companies preferred
