Recruiting Manager
Leonie is an international, woman-owned strategic communication company specializing in reaching target audiences in challenging locations with global media solutions including region-specific research and planning, worldwide media production and distribution, digital media and creative services, and cultural advisory services.
We are looking for a results driven hands-on manager/individual contributor with a proven track record of managing and developing recruiters and identifying candidates in a complex, fast paced environment. Recruitment scope encompasses full-time; part-time; and temporary employees. This position also requires technical recruiting skills related to strategic communications, information operations and planning, operational research, and cultural advisory services. In addition, this position will responsible for leading the selection, editing and final review of candidate resumes for proposal submissions.
Responsibilities include:
• Leading the recruiting team and provide hands on involvement filling open positions/requisitions expeditiously with qualified individuals
• Improve overall quality of recruiting service delivery with measurable metrics such as time to hire, cost to hire, turnover rates, time to resume submission, interview to hire ratio, etc.
• Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to the recruiting staff including goal setting, tracking and reporting to senior management
• Contribute to the development and consistent execution of best practices in staffing and recruitment.
• Partner with Business Development to ensure their needs are met relative to candidate submissions on proposals
• Final review and ultimate responsibility for all candidate submissions for hire or proposal submission including qualifications, completeness, accuracy, applicability and proper formatting prior to submission
• Independently source qualified candidates and job postings through various professional online sources and proprietary databases to fill requisitions, including cold calls, referrals, job fairs, newspaper and on-line postings.
• Independently acquire detailed information from Client Hiring Managers and Account Managers to determine the skills candidates need for the position requirements and the clients environment, assuring minimal time expenditure on the part of the client
• Continuous environmental scan of economic, competitors, and talent pool changes; technology advancements to obtain and retain competitive market advantage
• Stay attuned to customer requirements and other factors impacting potential market success
• Departmental responsibility for determining sourcing methods, interview setup methodology, interview feedback mechanisms, background checks, obtaining references, clearance verifications. Etc.
• Independent responsibility for making recommendations to hire to VP, Human Resources
• Perform follow-up calls with existing candidates to ensure quality satisfaction
• Other related duties as assigned
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 5+ years recruiting experience
• Former military experience; specifically with the US Army is highly desirable
• Experience in DoD government contracting recruiting and staffing, specifically with challenges associated with hiring U.S. based employees who will work on international assignments is a vital requirement
• Previous experience successfully managing, mentoring & coaching a team for optimal results
• Exceptional recruiting and sourcing capabilities
• A desire and willingness to mentor and coach team for optimal results
• Demonstrated ability for using social media -- including Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs, YouTube, RSS, social bookmarking, and Job boards including Monster, ClearanceJobs.com; CareerBuilder, etc.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized and results-oriented
• Strong Team Building Skills
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment with close attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Location of Position
• Arlington, VA
• Travel 15% of the time anticipated
