Summary
Leveraging the resources within the Charlotte based HR staff, this position is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources leadership and support for a mostly U.S. based, 300 person professional and administrative organization.
Primary accountability includes insuring that Corporate Center, including all locations in Charlotte NC, develops and maintains a high performance work environment consistent with all aspects of SPX vision, values and culture.
This is a twenty-four (24) month assignment after which it is anticipated that the incumbent will move to another position within SPX which will further leverage the skills developed in this position.

Partnering with leadership to:
- Insure the identification, development and retention of top talent
- Continuously improve the management and leadership skills of corporate center staff
- Measure and improve effectiveness and efficiency of administrative processes
- Implement and sustain continuously higher levels of improvement through well managed change processes
- Develop the processes and practices essential to becoming a successful global company
- Insure that the highest standards of compliance and ethics are embedded into the organization
Providing leadership and partnering within the HR function to:
- Implement and sustain best practices
- Develop and model the HR generalist / business partner role working in conjunction with HR shared services roles
- Review, modify and implement policies, practices and programs necessary to support local and company-wide requirements
- Insure excellence rotational development program excellence.
- Deliver HR services including consulting, counseling, training, employee relations, general employee communications and all aspects of total rewards such as pay planning and position classification.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Education
- Able to be a credible advocate of appropriate HR policies and practices with individuals throughout the organization, including the “C” suite.
- Expertise in Human Resource concepts, practices, procedures and U.S. employment regulations and laws
- Success in coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
- Strong orientation to managing through metrics, project management and continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
- Able to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
- Works well under stress with the ability to deliver on time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experienced with MicroSoft suite of products along with LotusNotes Email & Calendar systems
- Minimum of a BA/ BS plus evidence of continuous learning
