Key Role:
Provide subject matter expertise, project management, and analytical support to the DoD deployment global health surveillance program, including medical and cancer surveillance, biosurveillance, biomonitoring, pre- and post-deployment health assessments, and deployment-related disease and injury metrics. Coordinate deployment-related epidemiological research efforts with organizations internal and external to the DoD, including interfacing with the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center and the Service Surveillance Centers. Provide leadership and support to the DoD Health Surveillance Integrated Product Team in order to coordinate a myriad of DoD-wide health surveillance efforts. Review and ensure the currency and effectiveness of DoD policies and systems to address the full spectrum of pre-, during-, and post-deployment global health surveillance requirements, identify Joint capability gaps, deficiencies, and adverse trends impacting these efforts, and provide analytical and facilitative support for revising or developing policies, programs, processes, products, and information management and IT systems to address these impacts. Support DoD, Joint, and international working groups by providing DoD health affairs-level representation thought leadership, vision, and subject matter expertise on deployment global health surveillance matters. Represent the client at meetings, conferences, and other venues internal and external to the DoD.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: -10+ years of experience with the Military Health System -5+ years of experience with health surveillance, including medical or cancer surveillance -Experience with electronic disease surveillance systems -Experience with project management and report creation -Knowledge of DoD deployment health processes, including Military public health, preventive medicine, occupational and environmental health, health risk assessment, and epidemiology -Knowledge of medical information systems and data -Secret clearance -MA or MS degree Additional Qualifications: -Knowledge of health risk communications -Ability to display facilitation skills -Possession of excellent analytical skills -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills -MA or MS degree in Public Health or a similar field or 5+ years of experience in a related field Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
