JOB DESCRIPTION
The HRSC Senior Continuous Improvement Analyst is an integral part of the ongoing design and development of Northrop Grummans Human Resources Service Center (HRSC). Working with cross functional subject matter experts and leadership across the company, the HRSC Senior Continuous Improvement Analyst provides business process analysis and project management related to process improvement and service expansion. Focusing on operation efficiencies and risk mitigation, key functions include:- defining improvement projects aligned with business strategies- analyzing business processes looking for operational efficiencies, control points and points of integration into other business processes- facilitating and coaching improvement teams- investigating the impact of business processes on systems / workflows- identifying process solutions- creating and maintaining process documentation, to include detailed work flows- coordinating implementation of process changes- establishing and maintaining performance metrics to track process performance- interfacing with other functional areas to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate mannerProject assignments will include situation assessment, process analysis, recommendation generation, presentation to senior management, and oversight of improvement implementation. The incumbent will focus on improving existing processes as well as implementing new processes into the HRSC. The incumbent must be able to work independently and interact with all levels of management across the company. The incumbent may also be responsible for the project oversight in a mentoring capacity for projects assigned to other members of the department. In this role, the incumbent will provide guidance/make recommendations regarding investigation methodology, solutions, metrics and implementation strategies. Assignments are often self-initiated with considerable latitude for independent judgment.The position requires that the individual enter into new, unfamiliar areas, and quickly assess process performance, critical success factors, and proper course of action. The incumbent must influence management to accept change recommendations without having the authority to dictate the change. They must push projects forward even when there is resistance from other areas involved in the project. Difficulty may be encountered in obtaining data or validating the accuracy of data. The incumbent must also be able to focus and manage multiple priorities and assignments.Major Duties and Responsibilities: - Conduct process reviews and analysis by applying specific analytical tools and techniques. May include data gathering, benchmark research, data analysis and process mapping.- Make recommendations to improve business processes, streamline operations, reduce headcount, or reduce operating expenses. Identify specification requirements related to process changes, investigate impact on systems/workflow, and coordinate implementation of changes.- Interface with other functional areas to identify process improvement opportunities, implement process changes and ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner.- Work with customer service representatives and managers to identify gaps in knowledgebase content; submit recommendations for changes to knowledgebase administrator- Identify training needs through performance monitoring- Document and present process findings and recommendations to HR Senior Management, Business Partners, and other stakeholders.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills- Ability to interface with all levels in the organization as well as across multiple functional areas- Ability to achieve support and cooperation from others- Ability to understand new information and its implications easily- Strong analytical and organizational skills- Project and resource management skills- Ability to develop solutions to problems requiring high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness- Ability to remain flexible- Ability to work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives- Thorough and proactive- Ability to handle complex analytical toolsBasic Qualifications: Bachelors degree and minimum 10 years related experience. Experience working with a continuous improvement methodology. Experience in project management and leading project teams geared at reengineering or automating processes. Experience working with and designing work flows, processes, and training programs. Experience developing, analyzing, and reporting metrics. Proficiency with application software (Microsoft Office Suite), MS Access, Visio. Preferred Qualifications: MBA, Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Human Resources. Experience in a service center environment. Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Change management experience.
