JOB DESCRIPTION

Be part of the team that is responsible for developing and administering compensation programs that support Microsoft’s strategic goals, and help develop compensation programs that keep Microsoft competitive!

This position will be responsible for providing HR compensation consulting services to a Microsoft Business Group (BG) globally.

Successful candidate will proactively partner with HR and line management to identify and address compensation issues, and evangelize Microsoft’s Reward and Recognition Strategy to the BG. This position also represents the client’s point-of-view in key corporate compensation initiatives and the corporate point-of-view with client groups. Specific duties to include:

Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and models potential impact of alternatives.
Provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate pay levels, base pay, annual incentive pay (including sales compensation) and stock.
Develop proposals and presentations about compensation programs to influence and educate senior level decision-makers.
Conduct job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation.
Conduct custom surveys with key industry contacts as needed.
Partner with regional compensation (globally) on compensation issues, and will work on a variety of special compensation projects as needed.


The position will also partner closely with the global compensation program team on design, policy development, guidelines, and operationalization of a key compensation programs.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a four year undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or related area or the equivalent in related work experience. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible compensation experience required. A CCP is preferred. High Tech industry experience preferred. Sales Compensation experience preferred. Familiarity with advanced statistical methods is preferred. Excel proficiency required and Access capability preferred. Excellent collaboration, influencing, advising, organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required. Position will be located in Redmond, WA.
