JOB DESCRIPTION

Microsoft is looking for a strong Human Resources Manager to develop and implement business based HR strategies for the Finance Corporate Center. The mission of Finance at Microsoft is to become world-class and drive shareholder value. This position will be a key business partner to executives within the Finance function and will be responsible for ensuring successful HR strategy and execution. The role will be accountable for managing (or coordinating) processes and emerging issues in the areas of:

Performance Management
Employee and Leader Development
Organizational Development
Talent Management
Management Excellence
Succession Planning
Diversity and Inclusion
Employee Relations

Success in this role will require:

Developing strong business relationships with executive management
Understanding the business mission, challenges, and strategic initiatives in order to influence and drive the people agenda for the organization
Closely partnering with client executives to design and deliver HR solutions that drive business results
Identifying and acting upon coaching opportunities with business leaders while considering organizational implications
Building management team capability to facilitate an open, inclusive, Microsoft values-based environment which enables effective employee advocacy
Ability to guide clients through organizational change
Coaching managers to effectively and creatively utilize their talent resources
Investigating and resolving employee relations issues
Providing support in using HR systems, tools and processes
Driving core HR programs (Annual Review, MYCD, People Review, etc.)
Participating as a member of the Corporate Business HR team; and driving and supporting cross-group HR initiatives

Skill/Experience Requirements:

5+ years in professional client-facing human resources related roles (HR generalist experience is preferred, but specialist or consulting experience will be considered)
Excellent consulting and analytical skills, focus on results, skilled at building strong professional relationships at all organizational levels
Demonstrated competence in all aspects of HR management (e.g., performance management, succession planning, coaching, employee relations, reward/recognition, etc.)
Desire to learn the client’s business and apply that learning when making recommendations
Experience and demonstrated working knowledge of employment laws such as EEOC guidelines, FLSA and ADA
BS/BA required
Graduate degree in HR related field preferred
