JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities for leading teams within a minimum of 2 areas including: Employee Relations, Training, Compensation, Benefits, and HR Administration.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures and tools which may include performance management, career development, communication and relationship building skills among others, with the goal to build and foster good communication and positive relationships between employees and supervisors/managers.
- Serve as internal consultant to team members and others by providing advice and counsel in resolving conflicts and solving problems.
- Maintain an understanding of ‘how employees are feeling’ and take appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal employment requirements.
- Manage timely, thorough investigations and responses to employee concerns and complaints.
- Direct and manage formal complaints received via a state or federal agency and if necessary legal proceedings.
- Oversee the design, development, creation and implementation of training programs across the organization to meet group, department and/or individual needs. This includes training programs for Hot Topic and Torrid field teams, CADC, TNDC and HQ.
- Evaluates effectiveness of training programs and instructor performance; facilitate training programs and classes as needed.
- Develop a method to evaluate, measure and track training effectiveness.
- Assess and design leadership training programs for the leadership team as necessary.
- Collaborate with department heads, managers and supervisors to identify training needs within functional areas and across the company.
- Demonstrated expertise in compensation theory and practices and experience with the design, administration and implementation of salary and bonus plans, equity plans, executive compensation strategy and plans, retirement plans, deferred compensation plans, health and welfare plans, life and disability insurance plans, 401(k) plans, etc. Knowledge of legislation that may affect compensation and benefits policies.
- Excellent analytical, project management, organizational and computer skills and strong knowledge and experience working with complex spreadsheets, human resource management systems and third-party vendor programs.
- Effective communication, listening, organizational and interpersonal skills, ability build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS.
- Lead, motivate and develop team members that offer excellent customer service and business solutions.
- Develop and manage department budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business administration, or other related field preferred
- 7+ years of human resources experience, specifically with Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, Training, and/or HR Administration.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting a multi-site, multi-state organization. Retail experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and critical thinking skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Commitment to meeting and exceeding requirements of internal and external customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including ability to work in a team environment; give and receive direct, honest feedback.
- Accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS.
